Training on sexual violence.

The request was successful.

Dear Kingston University,

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, to request the following information:

Does your university currently deliver training on sexual violence to staff and/or students?

If YES:
Is this training mandatory?
Who is invited to attend the training?
How is the training delivered (e.g. online, in-person seminar, workshop, etc)?
What is the completion rate of the training?

    If NO:

Has there been any training offered in the past, and if so, what?
Is any training planned for the future?

If it is not possible to provide the information that has been requested, due to the information exceeding the cost of the compliance limits that are identified in Section 12, please provide advice, under your Section 16 obligations, as to how I may be able to refine my request to meet the requirements of the Act.

I look forward to your response within 20 working days, as specified by the Act.

Yours faithfully,

megan fouracre

Dear Megan,

Further to your recent request for information, the University’s response
follows.

Does your university currently deliver training on sexual violence to
staff and/or students?

If YES: Is this training mandatory? Who is invited to attend the training?
How is the training delivered (e.g. online, in-person seminar, workshop,
etc)? What is the completion rate of the training?

If NO: Has there been any training offered in the past, and if so, what?
Is any training planned for the future?

The University does not currently deliver training for staff or students
specifically on sexual violence. Our Wellbeing practitioners (in our
Services for Students Directorate)are clinically qualified and receive
ongoing CPD training. They are available to support and advise students
who may be affected or concerned by sexual violence. Additional
information is also available at [1]www.kingston.ac.uk/health.
Additionally, a healthy relationships project is currently underway which
considers a raft of initiatives including reporting, potential extension
of support services and any specific training needs.

This completes the University’s response to your information request. If
you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your
request and wish to make a complaint or request an internal review of our
decision please contact:

Director of the Vice-Chancellor’s Advisory and Support Department, email :
[2][email address] or by post: Kingston University,
River House, 53-57 High Street, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 1LQ.

In the event that you are not content with the outcome of your complaint
you may then apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a
decision. Generally, the Information Commissioner cannot make a decision
unless you have exhausted the complaints procedure provided by Kingston
University. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at: The
Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow,
Cheshire, SK9 5AF.

I hope that you now have the information you require.

Kind regards,

Lyn
