Training of 77 Brigade

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Ministry of Defence should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Ministry of Defence,

In June 2020 you informed me that 77 Brigade were "working within the Cabinet Office’s Rapid Response Unit to tackle a range of harmful narratives online. As a UK Government unit, they have two primary audiences – Government Departments and British Citizens, as well as anyone else seeking reliable information online.” You explained the “activity 77th Brigade have been engaged in within the scope of the request is conducted under the same rules as the civil servants they are working alongside.” (https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/c...) Two personnel from 77 Brigade received training in the Netherlands in Oct/Nov 2018 (Training reported here: https://ottawacitizen.com/news/national/...) can you please confirm whether these personnel who were on the course were involved in aiding communication of coronavirus with the Cabinet Office please?

Yours faithfully,

Dr Emma L Briant
