Traffic signs and markings in Castle Street, Reading
Dear Reading Borough Council,
The traffic sign in Castle Street indicating the "DO NOT USE CENTRE LANE" and the road marking "AM PEAK" are are not in the current or older versions of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions. I would like you to forward me a copy of the Department for Transport authorisation or other authorisation that allows these signs, legend and road marking to be used at this location.

You have requested the following information under the provisions of the
Freedom of Information Act 2000:
The traffic sign in Castle Street indicating the "DO NOT USE CENTRE LANE"
and the road marking "AM PEAK" are are not in the current or older
versions of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions. I would
like you to forward me a copy of the Department for Transport
authorisation or other authorisation that allows these signs, legend and
road marking to be used at this location.
Our response is as follows:-
We are unable to meet your request as the information you have requested
is not held by us. The Castle Hill traffic management arrangement was
implemented by Berkshire County Council as highway authority prior to
Reading Borough Council becoming a unitary authority. You could ask the
Department for Transport if they have a copy of the information that you
seek.
You are free to use any information supplied to you for your own personal
purposes or for non-commercial research, private study or news reporting.
However, you do not have the right to re-use the information in a way
which infringes copyright, for example, by distributing, making copies of
or publishing the information, without the permission of the copyright
holder, which in most cases will be Reading Borough Council. If you wish
