Afternoon Mr Fountain
Please accept my apologies for the continuing delay in responding to your
request for information. Unfortunately, the information which is held by a
supplier on our behalf has finally arrived but there are some queries
which need to be addressed before we can provide it. I am advised that
accurate data should be collated by the end of the week.
I should advise at this stage that you have the right to seek a review on
the grounds that the statutory deadline has been missed. You can e-mail
such request to [1][email address]. Please note that if you seek review
now, you cannot seek a further review if you are subsequently dissatisfied
with the response issued by the Review Officer. You would have to ask the
Scottish Information Commissioner to review the Review Response.
Kind regards,
Iain.

Dear Mr Fountain
Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 - Release of Information
Subject: Traffic Regulation order TRO/19/29 - Parking Space Changes
Thank you for your request for information of 17/12/2019 where you asked
the following:
Q1. Number of parking spaces added and removed per street.
Q2. Distance in meters of parking space added and removed per street.
Your request has been processed and considered under the Freedom of
Information (Scotland) Act 2002 and the information is provided below and
attached. Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding.
A1 and A2. Please note that the Council now uses a Map-Based Traffic
Regulation Order (TRO) system for on-street parking as opposed to
text-based TRO’s.
The Map Based TRO deals with parking spaces in lengths (metres) rather
than individually marked spaces. The majority of parking places in
Edinburgh are marked out in blocks, rather than as individual parking
bays, so there is no limit on the number of vehicles that can be
accommodated, providing they fit within the markings of the parking place.
The attached data is extracted directly from our Map-Based TRO system and
shows the parking space lengths in metres before and after the TRO
proposal.
To promote transparency and accountability, please note it is the
Council’s policy to publish all request details and responses made under
the freedom of information legislation. This information will be made
available through the Council’s website and will not include your personal
details. The disclosure log is available at the following link:
