Traffic Monitoring on Cloverfields Estate in Thetford

Robert Whittaker made this Freedom of Information request to Norfolk Constabulary

The request was successful.

Dear Norfolk Constabulary,

At the Safer Thetford Action Group Open Meeting that took place earlier this month, it was reported that traffic speed monitoring had taken place on the Cloverfields Estate in Thetford earlier in the year. My notes from the meeting record this as having taken place between the 11th and 18th April 2018, and that the maximum speeds recorded ranged from 19.5 to 25.6mph. I would like to confirm these details. In particular, the maximum speeds seem unrealistic, so I think I may have mis-heard or mis-interpretted what was said at the meeting.

So could you confirm what speed monitoring took place on the estate this year, with the dates and precise location (a grid reference or annotated map would be ideal for the latter)? Also can you please provide the full speed data collected (e.g. a list of times and observed speeds of each vehicle), so I can perform my own analysis of the distribution of speeds?

Yours faithfully,

Robert Whittaker
