Dear Mr Cross

Further to your email of 23 March 2021, please see Wirral Council’s
response below.

1 - When was the small vehicular roundabout removed from Spital Cross
Roads (outside the Three Stags Public House)

See response to No. 2

2 - When were Traffic Lights installed at Spital Cross Roads

1974 is the date for the installation of a traffic signal controller,
which remained operational until replaced in 1993. The junction layout was
not altered when the controller was replaced in 1993

3 - When were the 2 left turn filters installed at Spital Cross Roads
(Poulton Rd left onto Brimstage Rd & Brimstage Rd left onto Church Rd

Current layout installed February 2001.

4 - How many traffic accidents (involving vehicles & pedestrians) have
occurred at Spital Cross roads since  the traffic lights were installed

Traffic signals were introduced in 1974, however the Council do not hold
data prior to 1990. This data includes only injury collisions reported to
Merseyside Police.

During the last 30 years from 01/01/1990 to 31/12/2020 there have been:

6 collisions involving pedestrians

2 collisions involving pedal cyclists

56 collisions involving vehicles

We trust this information is of interest to you.

Yours sincerely
