Dear DEVELOPMENT FOI,
Within the file "New Town Row traffic counts May 2015.docx" on the first page within the table "Analysis by Day of Week and Peak Hours" at the time "08:15-08:30" on "Fri 15/05", the value is -229. The value on the second page in the same location is also negative "-420".

Could you clarify why these values are negative?

Yours sincerely,

Sumeet Gopiani

Economy Governance, Birmingham City Council

Dear Sumeet

The data for 'New Town Row traffic counts May 2015' is incomplete, as there were some periods of 15/5/15 when the data was not collected. There are many reasons why the data might not be collected, but the most likely is that a vehicle was parked on the tube for that period of the time.

Any data not collected will register '-1' as a count, and this will affect any totals that would include this figure. Obviously data with negative totals is unusable, and any analysis would have to discount that day's data.

I hope that this answers your query.

Yours sincerely

Governance Team
