Dear Mr West,

Thank you for your request for information received on 12 March 2024. This request
has been handled under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004.
As you submitted two requests on the same day, for similar information, the Council
will deal with this under one response.
Your request
EIR 23213
I would be grateful if you would provide the budget capital costs of the proposed
traffic filter costs and the ongoing annual maintenance and management costs per
annum, please.
EIR 23214
I would be grateful if you would provide the capital, maintenance, and management
costs / annum for the proposes traffic filter scheme due to be implemented this year
please.
Our response
In relation to the Traffic Filters Scheme:
The capital cost budget estimate is £6.567m.
The trial period (up to 18 months) maintenance and management budget estimate is
£1.747m. The ongoing maintenance and management costs are expected to be met
by revenue (penalty charge notices) from the scheme.
If the trial is made permanent, the projected budget estimate for the annual ongoing
maintenance and management costs is £0.847m / annum. However, the actual
maintenance and management costs will be informed by the trial itself and will be
used, alongside other data, for decision-making.
