Traffic cameras in West Norwood
Dear Lambeth Borough Council,
Please can you provide me with the council policy for using CCTV cameras for parking enforcement in West Norwood.
I am particularly interested in knowing:
1) the location of cameras, and for each camera, the reason it is used instead of CEO enforcement.
2) the location of street signage for each camera that let's the public know that CCTV surveillance is in use.
Many thanks,
Edwina Threipland.

Dear Ms Thriepland
Thank you for your Freedom of Information Act request, logged with reference number IR56986. Please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in responding.
You asked for information relating to the use of CCTV cameras for parking enforcement in West Norwood. Please find the information you requested attached / below.
CCTV enforcement camera 176 is situated on Norwood High Street North of the junction with Lansdowne Hill. Mobile vehicles are also deployed in the Norwood area frequently at the box junction situated at the junction of Norwood High Street and Lancaster Avenue.
Please see attached the London Councils CCTV Code of Practice, which regulates enforcement policy in the London boroughs.
CCTV enforcement is used at key locations, such as box junctions, as vehicles can be deployed more effectively than static CCTV providing a visible deterrent and helping to promote compliance with parking and traffic regulations. CCTV is also utilised where it is difficult to deploy Civil Enforcement Officers safely and effectively, such as locations where they experience high levels of abuse. This often the case in traffic sensitive locations, ie. High Streets in commercial areas where it is necessary to maintain traffic flow, reduce congestion and keep priority bus routes moving.
Please also see the attached location map for camera 176 and the photographs of the associated signage.
