Trade Unions

The request was successful.

Dear Postal Services Commission,

Under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act, I wish to make a request for the following information from Postcomm:

1. Is Postcomm currently paying any money to any trade union?

2. Has Postcomm paid any money to trade unions since 1997?

3. If so, in what form has Postcomm funded, or is funding, trade unions?

4. Which trade unions have received or are receiving funding from Postcomm?

5. How much money has been paid to each of these trade unions and when was the money paid?

6. How much money does Postcomm expect to give each trade union this year?

7. Does Postcomm plan to continue funding trade unions at the same level?

Yours faithfully,

Ms Blackmann

Alison Farncombe, Postal Services Commission

Dear Ms Blackmann

Thank you for your recent Freedom of Information request regarding trade
unions. We have not paid any money to trade unions, nor do we have any
plans to. Staff are of course free to join a union if they wish.

I hope you find this information useful. If you are unhappy with the
service you have received in relation to your request and wish to make a
complaint, you should write to Postcomm's Director of Resources, Colin
Sharples. The contact address is Postal Services Commission, Hercules
House, Hercules Road, London, SE1 7DB; email: [1][Postcomm request email]

If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint, you may apply
directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision. Generally, the
Information Commissioner's Office cannot make a decision unless you have
exhausted the complaints procedure provided by Postcomm. The Information
Commissioner can be contacted at the Information Commissioner's Office,
Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.

Kind Regards

Alison
