Town Parking/Car Park Policy
Dear Kingston upon Thames Borough Council,
Can you please clarify the policy in respect of Kingston Town Centre surface car parking.
At a Scrutiny meeting on June 7th 2018 Councillor Cunningham backed up the now Chief Executive Roy Thompson stated that it was policy to discourage Town Centre car parking and that it was one of the main reasons for disposing of Neville House Yard Car Park.
At a Kingston Town Neighbourhood Committee meeting held on 6th September, when discussing the Greycourt House Car Park planning application Councillor Cunningham stated that it was council policy to encourage parking in the town centre.
Clearly, this is a miss match or misunderstanding of council policy OR between June 7th and September 6th council policy changed.
Can you please state when the policy changed, the officer's report, the committee in which the changes were discussed and the councillors who voted.
Thank you
Yours faithfully,
Bob Tyler

Dear Ms Brown, Ms Ireland, Mr MacKenzie
Thank you for your reply.
I think by quoting draft plans you are trying to say is that there really is no policy relevant to this question?
We know and have proof that some Councillors and officers have told lies on record and that some executives have made things up at council meetings. Without saying directly, this response is indicating that in the course of replying to this response, no officials, executives or councillors were consulted or that they failed to comment?
This being the case, I am not surprised given the evidence that previous FoI’s have stated that no documentation exists. This is clearly not the truth given that its legal arm SSLP advised RBK about the disposal of car parks. Therefore I can only conclude that these two statements were made up or based on false facts as directed by officers and executives.
Do you want to consult with the officers and councillors concerned and respond with the evidence-based facts or shall I submit the FoI again?
Yours sincerely,
Bob Tyler
