Touchbase* not published since 9 March 2020 - *"Touchbase: DWP news about work, working age benefits, pensions"

We're waiting for Frank Zola to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Please email me a copy of each edition of Touchbase you have sent to email subscribers after your stopped publishing them online at gov.uk after 9 March 2020:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicatio... since you started publishing on 14 September 2015.

Please ensure copies of Touchbase disclosed allow all embedded http www website links to be clicked on.

Please also disclose how Touchbase email subscribers can view an archive of past copies, before they subscribed, as access to such is a common convention for email newsletters. If you are unable to provide subscribers with access to an archive, please share information held on whether you can enable such an archive function and why you have not done so currently and in the past.

Yours faithfully,
Frank Zola

DWP Central FOI Team,

1 Attachment

Dear Frank Zola,

I am writing in response to your request for information, received 29th
March.

Yours sincerely,

DWP Central FoI Team

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Department for Work and Pensions's handling of my FOI request 'Touchbase* not published since 9 March 2020 - *"Touchbase: DWP news about work, working age benefits, pensions"'.

I am wholly unconvinced by your reasons to deny disclosure of Touchbase editions since you ceased publishing them online, there is a significant Public Interest
to know how the DWP has communicated change and details of claimants rights and entitlements during the coronavirus pandemic. Therefore please review your decision not to disclose the information requested.

As an additional related request, please advise how many editions (Touchbase updates) have been produced since you ceased publishing them online on 9/3/20.

There is clearly an interest for website based copies of Touchbase since you stopped publishing them, you can see examples at:

Touchbase – 29 January 2021
https://ways2work.org.uk/dwp-touchbase-2...

DWP: Touchbase – 12th February 2021
https://teacakeclub.org/2021/02/16/dwp-t...

and for such website copies to be easy to access in a unified manner, previously this was on gov.uk and FOI disclosures via https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/ and my FOI would be of value to the Public's right to know.

There is a mention to 'DWP’s Touchbase Newsletter: 6 November 2020' here:
https://www.sctp.org.uk/dwps-touchbase-n...

and it provides a direct link to the edition at:
https://news.dwp.gov.uk/dwplz/lz.aspx?p1... this shows that the DWP retains copies of all Touchbase editions and it would be reasonable to suggest that DWP has very easy access to a list of Touchbase editions posted on https:// news. dwp. gov. uk/ (https://news.dwp.gov.uk/) and would take very little time for the DWP to provide me with a copy or links to each copy of Touchbase produced and shared since 9 March 2020

I note you have not provided any information concerning my request:

"Please also disclose how Touchbase email subscribers can view an archive of past copies, before they subscribed, as access to such is a common convention for email newsletters. If you are unable to provide subscribers with access to an archive, please share information held on whether you can enable such an archive function and why you have not done so currently and in the past"

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/t...

Yours faithfully,

Frank Zola

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Please ignore my internal review request on "As an additional related request, please advise how many editions (Touchbase updates) have been produced since you ceased publishing them online on 9/3/20.", as I can see you did indicate such earlier. I also do not consider my request of FOI2021/14089 is the same or similar to FOI2021/14089 as the newer FOI request is asking for disclosure of editions of Touchbase not published and sent via email, which I have not requested before.

Yours faithfully,

Frank Zola
