Total net spending on housing homeless applicants in temporary accommodation
Dear FOI Team,
I write to make an amended request for information relating to the total NET (rather than gross) spending on the provision of temporary accommodation for those registering as homeless made by this council between the years 2015 and 2021
As part of this request I would like the information to be broken down into the following:
(i) The number of people placed into temporary accommodation after making a homeless application, broken down into year-by-year;
(ii) The average length of stay in temporary accommodation after making a homeless application;
(iii) The five longest periods of stay in temporary accommodation after making a homeless application;
(v) The total cost of temporary accommodation to the council, broken down into costs per night, per month and per year.

Section 1(1) of the FOI Act states that "Any person making a request for information to a public authority is entitled to be informed in writing by the public authority whether it holds information of the description specified in the request".

Please again accept our apologies for the delay in responding to your
request. Unfortunately we have been unable to provide a response sooner
due to resourcing issues. The pandemic and the Councils financial
situation has had a significant impact on the Council staffing numbers and
resources including the service which covers Freedom of Information and
Environmental Information requests and therefore, this has lead to a
serious backlog of work.
Please be assured that the Council are taking steps to improve this
situation and your request has not been ignored. We can confirm that the
relevant service who hold this information are working on your request and
