Thank you for your recent FOI request.

North Yorkshire County Council has not used any agency social workers
during 2014/15. However we have on a few occasions had to use a small
number of agency Advanced Mental Health Practitioners who are social work
qualified. The total expenditure for this during the financial year
2014-15 was £12,481.98.  Please note that this spend was incurred whilst
recruiting to the positions directly. NYCC are committed to the direct
recruitment of qualified social workers and on the rare occasions we hire
agency staff this is for emergency, short term staff requirements only,
and typically whilst we complete a recruitment exercise to directly employ
such staff.
