Robinson, Bernie, Coventry City Council

Dear Mr Johnston

Freedom of Information Act 2000

Thank you for requesting information about the total amount budgeted for
cycle facilities, which the Council received on 6 November 2012.  Your
request has been considered under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

You have requested the following information;

How much of 2012's budget has been spent/will be spent on cycle facilities
and what percentage of the total budget this represents.

For 2013 budget how much is being budgeted for cycle facilities and what
percentage of the total does this represent.

The cycling budget is £100,000 in 2012/13 out of the total Integrated
transport budget of £1.82m. However there are other budgets which support
cycling such as road safety. The total vulnerable users budget for
2012/13, which includes cycling and road safety, is £415,000. This
supplemented by a cycle training budget of approximately £50,000, however
this is grant funding and the level of funding received depends on the
level of demand.

The City Council has recently secured nearly £7m of additional grant
funding to support cycling through the Local Sustainable Transport Fund.
This will be delivered by the City Council and Centro by March 2015. In
2012/13 the City Council intend to deliver £695,000 of capital funding and
£275,000 of revenue funding to support cycling.
