Mo Al-Akayshee, North Bristol NHS Trust

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your request for information. In compliance with the Freedom
of Information Act 2000, the response from the service is below.

Questions:

1.      In your opinion, do you expect a post pandemic work from home
culture to impact office based print toner consumption?

Single response

a)      Not at all.

b)      Moderately.

c)      Significantly

d)      Don’t Know

e)      Other – comments = The change in our office based print toner
consumption shall not be impacted by the post pandemic work from home
culture as we are a service led industry. It is more likely to be impacted
by different ways of working which in part is a direct result of the
pandemic and the capability of newer technologies.

2.      Who are your current print hardware device vendors of choice?

Multiple choices

a)      HP

b)      Brother

c)      Lexmark

d)      Epson

e)      Kyocera

f)      Other – comments – We do not have any preferences in relation to
vendors of choice it shall depend on whether we have established contracts
with vendors and the solution they have offered the trust, suppliers are
assessed on criteria which meets our needs in line with Public Procurement
Regulations.

3.      What approx. size is your print device fleet currently?

Single answer

a)      Record number

b)      Not Known

Any comments? The FOI is too broad in relation to print device/type and
trust to be able to provide required estimate.

4.      For the most recent financial year you have knowledge of, what
would you estimate was the volume of toner cartridges consumed across the
Trust?

Multiple choices

a)      Record number

b)      Not Known We would not be able to provide volume data on the basis
it relates to the printer type which is not clearly specified.

Any comments?

5.      Is there any preference for HP original toner cartridges versus
non original toner?

Multiple choices

a)      Yes

b)      No

c)      Some

d)      Not known

Any comments? it would depend on the print estate and whether there were
compatibility issues with using alternative toner brands, where possible
we would not limit ourselves to one specific brand.

6.      Who do you have Managed Print Service contracts running with?  LG
Davis

7.      Do you procure toner supplies within any procurement frameworks
you have operating? No, suppliers have gone through a competitive process
and awarded a contract as per Public Procurement Regulations.

8.      What % of toner that is consumed do you think is procured outside
of these framework agreements?

Single Answer - Record % - We would not be able to provide a response to
this question on the basis it is asking for our thoughts and is therefore
subjective.

Any further comments

We are looking to go out market in 2022 to re-procure devices for our
sites and are currently working on collating data to understand the
estate.   We are currently assessing viable framework agreements which we
may consider as part of the project and approach.
