To request a copy of all Tower Hamlets communication both paper and eletronic concerning the London Cocktail Week event to be held at Old Spitalfields Market on the week commencing Oct 3rd 2016.

Peter Cui made this Freedom of Information request to Tower Hamlets Borough Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Tower Hamlets Borough Council,

I would like to request a copy of all the written and electronic correspondence (including but not exclusive to emails and letters) both internal and external concerning London Cocktail Week event to be held in the Old Spitalfields Market on the week commencing October 3rd 2016.

The organisers of the event originally applied for Time Limited Premises License of the event as well as Temporary Event Notice for the event, and then withdrew the Time Limited Premises License application. 3 separate TENs were then granted for the single event, which on the face of it looks like a deliberate attempt to circumvent the licensing regulation, thereby allow a much larger event to be held than what the TEN should and also deny the local residents a chance to object to such an event to be held through the Time Limited Premises License process.

I would like to request a copy either electronically where possible or a photocopy where not, of all the correspondence between the council and the event organisers concerning the event. Including but not exclusive to:
- the original applications for the event both the Temporary Event Notices and Time Limited Premises License
- all subsequent communication between the event organisers and the council
- all internal council communication discussing the application and the granting of the TENs

Yours faithfully,

Peter Cui
