Freedom of Information Act, Milton Keynes Coroners' Office

Dear Mr Davies

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - INFORMATION REQUEST

Your request for information has now been considered and the information requested is below.

Q. It is a legal requirement that you hold valid Air Conditioning Assessments if any building has a total of more than 12kw of air conditioning present. Certificates are valid from 5 years of the issue date. Have you undertaken a T.M44 Air Conditioning Assessment?

The council has many buildings, some of which have more than 12kw of A/C present. There is no central database of which buildings require a Certificate, but advice has been given to occupiers that this is a legal requirement. For the main Civic Offices and Saxon Court, all requirements have been satisfied and the appropriate reports have been lodged on the Landmark database.

Q. Who is the responsible person for ensuring that your buildings are surveyed and assessed, please provide the name, address, email address and telephone number of the responsible person.

There is no one individual with this task in the organisation, instead this is the responsibility of the occupier/budget holder for each site. Schools have all been informed of this requirement and it is their duty to ensure compliance.

Q. If your T.M44 Certificates are in place, what is their expiry date?

See below

Q. What was the order value of the works placed with the Company which undertook the work?

See below

Q. Provide a breakdown of the price per building if available.

Information only available for Civic Offices and Saxon Court as follows:

Civic
Certificate dated 13/1/2010
Cost £1250+ VAT
Undertaken by Chris Alexander - Quidos and was independent
Saxon
Certificated dated 3/9/2010
Undertaken by Jason Jackson - Energy Solutions - and was independent

Q. How many Certificates were produced?

Above - One per site

Q. Was the Assessor independent as required under the Regulations?

Yes

Q. Name the Assessor organisation.

See above

Q. Do you have ISO 14001 Accreditation

No

If you have a complaint about the handling of your request then please contact me. I will arrange for an internal review which will be considered as part of Stage 2 of the Council’s complaints procedure.
