Tier 4 sponsor licence

The request was successful.

Dear Sheffield College,

Please can you could you state whether, since being granted a Tier
4 sponsor licence, you have been visited by UK Visas & Immigration
(and before that, the UK Border Agency) for the purpose of
assessing your institution's compliance with the sponsor licence.

If the answer is yes, please could you state whether the assessment
included direct investigation of the practical application of
admissions policy (i.e., looking at an actual sample of individual
applications already approved for a Tier 4 visa by your
institution) or whether only a general appraisal of policy
relating to the sponsor licence was carried out, without direct
investigation of its practical application.

Yours faithfully,

James Field

Sheffield College

Dear Mr Field

Thank you for your request.

During the UKVI visit to the College in early September 2014, the
Inspector requested to see 29 files. A sample of 11 were of individual
students whose applications were already approved for a Tier 4 visa.

I hope that this answers your query.

Regards
Val Struggles

Hi Val,

Thank you so much for your response, and for the extra detail. Is there a chance you could provide a scanned copy of UKVI's letter notifying you of their visit, with any personal information redacted?

Yours faithfully,

James Field

Dear James

I presume that your email below has been sent in error.  Your original
request for information was received on 2 October 2014 and I responded to
this, on behalf of the college, on 15 October 2014.  You have subsequently
followed up my response with a request for a copy of the letter from UKVI
- this request was received on 27 October and I will liaise with relevant
colleagues to provide you with a copy as soon as possible.

Dear Val,

It was --- my apologies!

best,

Sheffield College

Dear James

No problem - I just wanted to check there was nothing outstanding from
your first request.

Regarding your subsequent request for a scanned copy of the letter from
UKVI, I have been
informed that the College did not receive a letter prior to the visit in
September. Apparently it was
an unannounced visit which UKVI can carry out each year.

Regards
Val
