1) To date, how much has been spent by Lewisham Council on the cost of undertaking the eviction at Tidemill gardens?
To include:
- all legal costs to date
- costs of use of bailiffs
- cost of use of 24 hour security staff
- cost of equipment hire during and following the eviction
- cost of any security equipment
- All and any other costs associated with the evictions at Tidemill gardens and it’s ongoing ‘security’.

2) Where has the funding for the above been sourced from eg- Housing Revenue Account etc?

Thank you for your request for information held by London Borough of
Lewisham. I have included below a copy of your request, followed by the
Council’s response.

 

 

1) To date, how much has been spent by Lewisham Council on the cost of
undertaking the eviction at Tidemill gardens?

To include:

- all legal costs to date

- cost of equipment hire during and following the eviction

- cost of any security equipment

- All and any other costs associated with the evictions at Tidemill
gardens and it’s ongoing ‘security’.

 

In response, we can confirm that the financial cost to the Council to
evict protestors and secure the Old Tidemill Wildlife Garden was £105,188.
The eviction was carried out by the County Enforcement Group on behalf of
the Council as the site remained occupied despite a Court Order for the
site to be vacated. There has been no further spend to date.

 

 

 

2) Where has the funding for the above been sourced from eg- Housing
Revenue Account etc?

 

The costs are being met from the capital receipt for the land transaction.
