Thank you for your request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.   
 
Request and Response 
 
In Regards to the Shay Stadium are Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council looking to 
'offload' the ownership of the stadium, if so please could you answer the following 
questions? 
 
1)  Are the council looking to sell the stadium outright?  
 
A decision was reached at Budget Council in February 2024 to dispose of the stadium.  
Discussions are ongoing as to the terms of such disposal. 
 
If Yes has there been any offers or interest in purchasing the stadium?  
 
No offers have been received but there has been interest expressed in acquiring the 
stadium. 
 
2)  Are there any plans to transfer ownership of the stadium to either FC Halifax Town, 
Halifax Panthers RLFC, or a 3rd party interest?  
 
A decision was reached at Budget Council in February 2024 to dispose of the stadium.  
Discussions are ongoing as to the terms of such disposal.  There are no plans currently. 
 
If yes to the last part are the 3rd party interests from within the Calderdale council 
boundaries?

3)  Are there any plans to lease the stadium to a 3rd Party interest?
