The sale of boats owned by Anglesey council
Dear Isle of Anglesey Council,
In your publication NEWS MON winter 2012/13 edition it is reported that two boats BRANWEN and LLYR BACH are to be sold to offset the cost of the new craft LLYR 2. I have sent emails to your marine section to enquire as to when and how these craft are to be disposed of without so much as a response. Please can you tell me as to when and where these are to be sold. If they have been disposed of already , then how and when were they disposed of and what was the price achieved for each craft.
Yours faithfully,
Mr Creathorne

Please be advised that, in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004, we aim to respond to your request within 20 working days.

Information Compliance Officer
Dear Mr Creathorne
I refer to your e-mail dated 24^th March 2013 which asked for information
under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).
You requested information regarding Branwen, Llyr Bach and Llyr 2
Please find below the Council’s response:
Both “Llyr Bach” and “Branwen” were to be sold to offset
against the cost of the
new vessel “Llyr 2”.
Both vessels were independently surveyed and a value
attached to each of the vessels.
To date only the “Branwen” has been sold and she was sold for £5,500 this
was at the value suggested by the independent surveyor. She was sold to
the Port of Holyhead (Stena)
in March, with an agreement allowing the council to use the vessel if ever
required.
The “Llyr Bach” has been kept to be used as a safety boat whilst works
continue at the fish dock at Holyhead, saving the authority some further
costs, she will then be offered up for sale on completion of the works.
I trust the above information satisfies your request
