We  are  now  in  a  position  to  respond  to  your  freedom  of  information  request  of  27  July 
2021 and we again appreciate your patience in this matter.  
Please find attached the minutes for all meetings held by the Royal Mint Advisory Committee 
(RMAC) in the 2018/19 annual reporting period.  
You will note that we have made some very minor redactions in the minutes, applying the 
sections  40  and  43  Freedom  of  Information  Act  (FOIA)  exemptions  –  ‘Personal 
Information’ and ‘Commercial Interests’ respectively.  
Primarily  the  redacted  text  relates  to  actual  names  attributable  to  specific  comments  of 
RMAC members which engages the section 40 FOIA exemption.  
 
The other redactions relate to arrangements with artists. Whilst Section 40 is an absolute 
exemption, Section 43 is, of course, a qualified exemption, so we are obliged to carry out a 
public interest test here. In this case, if this information were disclosed, it would be likely to 
prejudice the commercial interests of The Royal Mint in terms of future engagements with 
artists We would see no public interest in disclosure of this information having regard to the 
clear potential harm to the commercial interests of The Royal Mint.   
 
We, of course, hope you find the information disclosed to be of interest. However, if you 
are dissatisfied with the handling of your request, you have the right to ask for an internal 
review.  Internal  review  requests  should  be  submitted  within  two  months  of  the  date  of
