The role of the Legatum Institute and its staff in helping the DEEU

The request is waiting for clarification. If you are Simon Ferrigno, please sign in to send a follow up message.

Dear Department for Exiting the European Union,
Following multiple reports that the Legatum Institute and its staff are helping the DEEU with negotiations with the European Union, it seems a matter of public interest that this role be more transparent, including how and by who this is being funded. This is vital as many of the Legatum staff are not only supporters of Brexit, but supporters of a 'no-deal' Brexit. As well as the preceding, I would like to know:
– What is the Legatum Institutes’s role in Brexit negotiations?
- Who sanctioned this role within government?
- Which Legatum staff are involved?
– How many meetings have they had with ministers and the Prime Minister?
– What was discussed at these meetings?
– Have they taken part in meetings in Brussels as part of UK government delegations?
– How many meetings?
– What was discussed?
- What formal reports and documents have been prepared by Legatum and used by DEEU. I would also like to see copies of these document.
– What is their formal role and contribution to discussions about Brexit and the UKs future with the British government?
– What parliamentary oversight is there of this participation?

Thanking you in advance

Yours faithfully,
Simon Ferrigno
