The process for approving the implementation of The Pause Programme and data from the project since commencement
Dear Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership,
1. Please confirm who (professional designation) or which group approved the delivery of The Pause Programme in Dundee.
2. Specifically, please confirm that the project was reviewed to meet with NHS ethical guidelines with particular attention to the following: when NHS staff provide long acting reversable contraception (LARC) to women, the staff provide it in the knowledge that the patient is told the other health and social care support they have accessed via Pause over the previous 12 weeks will cease should the women decline LARC.
3. If ethical approval was provided for this project, please confirm by whom/which group provided ethical approval (this is different from point 1 if the persons from point 1 did not consider or provide or were qualified to provide clinical ethical oversight). If explicit ethical approval has not been granted for delivery of this intervention, please confirm.
4. Please confirm how many women have been referred to Pause since the project began.
5. Please confirm how many women have received LARC through their involvement in Pause.
6. Please confirm if any women have declined LARC.
Yours sincerely,
