Dear FOI Team,

I requested the exact same request to the Office of National Statistics last year for a different time period.

They answered no problem.

This year they are providing a completely different answer which does not address what I ask from them.

It is almost as though they do not want to publish this information.

I wonder why????

Yours sincerely,

Craig Salter

FOI Team, Office for National Statistics

Dear Craig,

Thank you for your query.

We, the Office for National Statistics, do not collect information about burials or cremations. As a result, when we receive Freedom of Information requests for this information, we respond that the information is not held. This has been the case for all previous FOI requests on this topic, which can be found published on our website here: ONS Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.

Upon investigation, we have found that we previously responded to an FOI submitted in your name on this topic on 15/07/2021. We stated in this response that the information you had requested was not held by our organisation, and our published response can be found here: Burials and cremations in the UK 2019 to 2020.

If you would like to provide a link to the alternative response you received regarding this topic, we can look into this further for you.

Kind Regards
FOI Team.
