Your request
You asked if the fol owing was accurate:
"The figures show Scotland’s revenue is enough to cover al devolved spending as wel as al spending
on pensions and other social protection."
Response to your request
Information on public spending and revenue in Scotland is available from the Government Expenditure
& Revenue Scotland (GERS) publication. Table 3.8 shows the split between devolved and reserved
expenditure in Scotland and Table 1.1 reports total revenue in Scotland. As shown in Table 1.1,
revenue raised in Scotland in 2018-19 is estimated to be £62.7bn. This covers total devolved
expenditure and al reserved spending on Social Protection which includes pensions and other social
protection. These are shown in Table 3.8 as £44.7 bil ion and £18 bil ion respectively.
