The cost to the licence payer for the recent revamp of BBC logos across all its platforms

British Broadcasting Corporation did not have the information requested.

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

I note with some interest the new logo makeovers for various BBC platforms, as per the news item which was released online yesterday.

Your article https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment... refers to this issue.

The BBC is a public service broadcaster established by Royal Charter. It is funded by the licence fee paid by UK households. In these increasing times of financial hardship and austerity, it is vital the the licence payer receives value for money from this broadcast service. Further, given that we, the licence payer, are responsible for the funding of such an exercise, I respectfully ask for a breakdown of all of the costs involved - and for this information to be made fully transparent and publicly available.

Yours faithfully,

Lynda Bowyer

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

Thankyou for your response of 15 November 2021.

I do not agree with the contents therein and am, if anything, deeply troubled that the Corporation sees fit to do whatever it deems appropriate with public money without recourse to the licencepayer. The Corporation is a public service broadcaster, not a commercial entity, and as such it really ought to be holding its business ina full, frank and transparent manner.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs L J Bowyer

Dear FOI Enquiries,

Many thanks for your response.

However, I feel that given the Corporation's decision to hide behind the auspices of s43, I am extremely doubtful of the 'due process' that would or should take place, or that it would provide the transparency and responses which I am seeking.

The behaviour of the Corporation does not instill with me confidence, and I am sure I am not alone in this. As a public service broadcaster, I would have hoped that the BBC would give open and honest disclosure to its operation. That may be borne out of naievete on my part, but the desire to have accountability is nonetheless is a genuine request.

My distrust in the Corporation is driven by their initial response to this matter, and I believe that this request is now considered closed. However, thankyou to the FOI Enquiries team for having this platform which has enabled me to table this request.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs L J Bowyer
