Thank you for your request for information, as received by University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust on 23 November 2017. Within UHL NHS Trust, Freedom of Information Act requests are managed centrally by the Corporate and Committee Services Team.

Request for Information

Thank you for your Freedom of Information Act (FOI) request, as received on 23 November 2017 and acknowledged on 24 November 2017. For information, the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is one of the largest and busiest NHS teaching Trusts in the country incorporating Royal Infirmary, Glenfield and General hospitals. Our three hospitals have around 15,000 staff serving around 1.2 million people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, and a further two to three million people from the rest of the UK who come to us for treatment from one of our specialist services. During 2016/17 we treated 1,406,300 patients (that’s 3,852 patients each day) – 56,500 (or 4%) more patients than in 2015/16.

Following consultation with colleagues from the Estates and Facilities Directorate, I confirm that the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust holds information covered by your FOI request. In your Freedom of Information Act request, you asked for the following information and the Trust’s response is provided below following each section of your request:-

I’m looking to obtain the below information regarding the cost of parking per hour at your main hospital in Leicester (Leicester General Hospital) over the past five years from January 2012 to January 2017 if possible, or as recent as the data is available from.

In January 2012 it would have cost £1.50 to park for up to 1 hour at Leicester General Hospital. This was increased in October 2017 to £1.70 for up to 1 hour.
