Dear HM Revenue and Customs,

I refer to this previous FOI request: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/c...

Could you tell me what the actual savings were for that year, and also what the savings have been for subsequent years for which you hold the complete information.

Yours faithfully,

Ali Lord

Thank you for your communication of 28th January which has been passed to
HMRC's Freedom of Information Team.

We have allocated the above reference which you should quote if you need
to contact us.

The Team will arrange for a reply to be sent to you which will either
comply with HMRC's obligations under Freedom of Information Act or, if we
think it's an enquiry that we don't need to address under the terms of the
Act, let you know why. If it is the latter we will, if possible, pass it
on to a more appropriate part of the Department for answer.

Yours sincerely

Dear HM Revenue and Customs,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of HM Revenue and Customs's handling of my FOI request 'The cost of administering the changes to child benefit'.

I asked for the costs associated with the administration of the changes to child benefit. The reply that I got said that you don't hold that information. I think a major government department should know whether they have had an increase or decrease in staff and administration costs, so I'll rephrase my question slightly: could you tell me how the cost of operating child benefit have changed over the past 10 years. If that time frame is too broad, could you please give me figures for the tax years 2012/13 and 2013/14. I'm looking for information on how staff costs have changed, as well as associated administration costs for the whole of the child benefit department.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/t...

Yours faithfully,

Ali Lord
