Dear Dalton, Chelsea,

National Planning Policy
Framework (NPPF) or its accompanying Planning Practice Guidance
(PPG). The Planning Portal offers the following definition:
“Green wedges comprise the open areas around and between parts of
settlements, which maintain the distinction between the countryside and
built up areas, prevent the coalescence (merging) of adjacent places and
can also provide recreational opportunities.”
Planning officers will know what Green Wedge is

Many Councils have specific categories of Green Wedge / Greenbelt /other Green spaces [that are not categorised as either Green Wedge or Green belt]
If you do not use the category 'Green Wedge' in Planning.....then 'The Council does not define any green space as being Green Wedge'....will suffice, as a response

Yours sincerely,

Jo Mullen
