Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of British Broadcasting Corporation's handling of my FOI request 'The Biggest Crime in History - Crime Ref No: 6029679/21'.
I note that you have not confirmed or denied whether you hold this information, and have not applied an exemption that would remove this obligation. As you may be aware, Section 1(1) of the FOI Act (https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/200...) states that "Any person making a request for information to a public authority is entitled to be informed in writing by the public authority whether it holds information of the description specified in the request". I would be grateful if you could clarify whether or not this information is held, or specify which exemption of the duty to confirm or deny you are applying.
The information requested is not pertinent to journalism, art or literature, but as matters of regulation and accountability. The BBC's Charter requires that the "BBC must be independent in all matters concerning the fulfilment of its Mission and the promotion of the Public Purposes, particularly as regards editorial and creative decisions", and, "The BBC’s Object is the fulfilment of its Mission and the promotion of the Public Purposes.", and one of the Public Purposes of the BBC is "To provide impartial news and information to help people understand and engage with the world around them: the BBC should provide duly accurate and impartial news, current affairs and factual programming". The information requested relates to the BBC's independence (or lack thereof), the fulfilment of its mission and one of its key Public Purposes.
Crime Reference Number 6029679/21 is strong evidence that the BBC misled the British public in its 18th January article [1], in which it stated, "Followers of "sovereign citizen" and "freeman on the land" conspiracy theories wrongly believe they possess the legal power to bring leading politicians, civil servants and scientists before so-called "common law courts". That is a grotesque distortion away from independently reporting the plain facts of the matter, that some people believe they have the legal power to bring leading politicians, civil servants and scientists to justice if they have committed the very serious offences and crimes against the British people for which they have been being investigated by the Metropolitan Police Service since 20th December 2021. Why would the BBC deride such a notion? Why would the BBC not inform the British public that its government is being investigated for extremely serious crimes? It is my understanding that crimes including Misfeasance and Misconduct in Public Office, conspiracy to commit Grievous Bodily Harm, conspiracy to administer a poisonous and noxious substance to cause serious harm and death, gross negligence manslaughter, and many more serious crimes and human rights abuses have been cited, in relation to the government’s handling of the pandemic and the COVID injection programme. Since most people in the country have been injected, it is manifestly in the public interest to know that what they have been injected with – and, more importantly, WHAT PARENTS ARE STILL BEING ASKED TO INJECT THEIR CHILDREN WITH – is the subject of a criminal investigation for causing harm and death. THE PUBLIC HAS A RIGHT TO KNOW!
In addition to the Metropolitan Police investigation, it is my understanding that Greater Manchester Police have also opened a linked investigation (crime reference number: 1220-020222), as has West Yorkshire Police (crime reference number: 13220052372). These alleged crimes are national and international in scope. It is mindboggling to me that this investigation has been ongoing for 7 weeks and the BBC still has not informed the British Public.
“Media bosses” are apparently cited as being complicit in the alleged crimes. This raises serious questions about conflicts of interest within our media organisations, and highlights the need for openness and transparency.
I notice other media outlets openly reporting the BBC’s apparent “looking the other way” [2]. It is my understanding this is the kind of behaviour potentially being criminally investigated. In any event, it is not indicative of unbiased reporting such as required by the company’s Charter, and is damaging to the organisation’s credibility.
Especially with the Jimmy Savile atrocities in the rear mirror, it is vital that the BBC is hyper-vigilant for any wrongdoing within its organisation and that it acts to protect children from harm on this occasion. Honest reporting is never more important than when a serious threat to children is identified. I therefore respectfully request that you provide the requested information, which pertains to matters of accountability, regulation and oversight – not journalism – and is very much in the public interest, especially over this matter at this time. If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear. If you have something to hide, we want to know about it.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/t...
Yours faithfully,
Rowan Braithwaite
