Dear Gwynedd Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Gwynedd Council's handling of my FOI request 'The amount Gwynedd Council has raised since increasing the council tax premium to 100%'.

As a second home owner who is liable to pay a 100% premium on council tax, I believe I have an entitlement to information about how much is being raised by Gwynedd Council from the additional premium. This is particularly the case as Gwynedd Council repeatedly cites (unfairly and inaccurately) second home owners as being responsible for the dearth of homes available in Gwynedd (rather than its own manifest and wide-ranging inadequacies and failed policies). Gwynedd Council repeatedly claims the money raised from the additional premium will be used to provide housing for local people. How can the council be held accountable when it refuses to disclose the most basic of information - how much it has raised from the additional premium since it was increased to 100%? How can those subject to the tax assess whether the premium they are being charged is being put to the use claimed by Gwynedd Council?

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/t...

Yours faithfully,

Sarah Ellis
