TFL ticket sales week in number of journeys per day up to date and live information.

The request was partially successful.

Dear Transport for London,

I working in Retail and look after an area in London. I have a TFL Power BI link from a previous request, which enables me to see taps for ticket sales in London on Buses and Tubes Stations.

I am looking for a weekly update of ticket sales (volume of tickets sold) each week in and around London. Including Under and over ground. Where can I find this information for a weekly basis?

Yours faithfully,

Benji Norcott

Dear Mr Norcott,

TfL Ref: FOI-0268-2223

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 4^th
May 2022 asking for information about ticket sales on London Underground
and London Overground.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of
the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

Specifically you asked:

“I am looking for a weekly update of ticket sales (volume of tickets sold)
each week in and around London. Including Under and over ground. Where can
I find this information for a weekly basis?”

I can confirm that we hold the information you require. The attached
spreadsheet provides data on ticket issues and a count of Pay As You Go
(PAYG) top-ups by week for the last 3 years. Note that:

• The column headed “Stations etc” are issues at stations (including
London Underground and London Overground). It does not include sales
at National Rail stations;
• “Ticket Stops” are issues at newsagents and similar outlets;
• Web/app sales are Oyster tickets picked up on an existing card the
next time the card is validated (Fast Universal Load);
• “PAYG Top ups” are for all outlets.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable
to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to
appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would
like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
