Freedom of Information Act 2000 – Testing of Botulinum Toxin ("Botox") on Animals (2012)

To Whom It May Concern,

I write in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (“The Act”) to request the disclosure of data held which concerns the use of animals in the testing of Botulinum Toxin ("Botox") during 2012. For the avoidance of doubt, 'testing' is defined as any procedure or otherwise regulated by the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 and 'Botox' is defined by its common name, not it's patented name.

The information I wish to request is as follows:

1. During 2012, how many project licences for the testing of Botox were issued or remained active?

2. During 2012, how many project licenses which concerned the testing of Botox were declines?

3. During 2012, which tests (Including, but not limited, LD-50) were used for the testing of Botox?

4. Listed by species, how many animals were used in the testing of Botox during 2012?

I must stress that I am not interested in data which identifies those under the employ of the institution or any third parties and wholly agree for such personal information to be redacted.

As I am sure you are aware, The Act dictates that a response must be given within 20 days of receipt of this request. In the eventuality of any delay, I request that you keep me informed. If there are any matters on which you seek clarity, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Many thanks for your assistance and time spent in handling my request.

Kind Regards,

Luke Steele
