Term funding scheme
Dear Bank of England,
I would like to better understand operations of the TFS. The bank publishes - "quarterly certified net lending flows to UK households, PNFCs and NBCPs (£mn)". Is it possible to break this to know exactly how much net lending flows is going to each category respectively - i.e. net lending flows to just PNFCs?
Yours faithfully,
Frank van Lerven

Dear Enquiries,
Thank you for your response. Firstly Im sorry that you received three emails with the same question. My interpretation of the FOI rules binding the Bank do not apply to information which the Bank of England holds for the purpose "of its functions with respect to… (a) monetary policy". Accordingly, the release of this information does not in any way shape or form influence the functioning of monetary policy, and the ability of the Bank to realise its targets as mandated by HMT. However, if you are suggesting that the Bank does not need release any information regarding its monetary policy operations - regardless of whether it influences its ability to realise its targets then I will pursue other legal recourse.
To clarify, I had reviewed the data available on the TFS. I noted that the bank publishes - "quarterly certified net lending flows to UK households, PNFCs and NBCPs (£mn)". So hopefully this should of been clear that I wasn't asking about the TFSME. But in any case, my point is in the data (that I have reviewed) provided by the Bank - households, PNFCs and NBCPs are all aggregated. It therefore not possible to determine the quarterly net lending flows to UK households or PNFCs respectively.
As mentioned before, revealing this information would in now way inhibit or affect the Bank's ability to realise its monetary policy target.
Thank you again for taking the time.
Best wishes,
Frank
