Dear Graham Mitchell

Request FOI/10767

Further to your request received on 30/09/2024, I confirm that the Council
has now considered your request under the Freedom of Information Act
2000. Specifically, you have requested the following information:

"Question:
Please let me have a list of the current temporary HMO licences operating
in the London Borough of Croydon.
Please state:
The full address of the property
The period of the temporary licence
The name and address of the licence holder."

There is not such a thing as a temporary licence for a house in multiple
occupation. The Council does issue a licence for a reduced term. The
Housing Act 2004 under section 68(4) says that a local authority may issue
a licence for a term of up to 5 years. Therefore, we assume that you
are requesting the information is asking for those property licences that
have a term of less than 5 years.

The information requested in relation to the period of the license /
registered houses in multiple occupation is available in summary version
using a link on the Council’s webpages.

For a copy of the full list, such as a paper copy to be posted or an
electronic copy emailed, then there is a charge. The charge payable is
£54. This is taken before the service is provided.

Dear [email address],

Thank you.

Neither link provides me with the information I require and I am not paying £54 for something that should be in the public domain.

I seem to have confused you by referring to "temporary" licences. What I require is the list off properties etc which are currently operating as an HMO with a reduced licence period of 12 months.

I look forward to receiving this information within the next 7 days else I will complain directly to Mayor Perry.

Yours sincerely,

Graham Mitchell
