Dear Jacob Johnson
The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is writing to respond
to your request, F23-8594, sent 31/01/2023.
Please see below your request and the Trust’s response below.
1. Has the Trust used agencies to recruit temporary non-medical
non-clinical staff? – For general A&C roles no. We don’t use agencies to
source workers on either a temporary or fixed term basis. We do work with
agencies to find suitable candidates for specific senior positions, where
workers are sourced by an agency and the worker joins the bank.
1a. If so please confirm the total agency spend on non-medical non
clinical temporary staff? Our purchase order system does not define by
job title so therefore we cannot supply that information because we are
unable to extract accurate data to answer this. As an example, on Oracle
we have a classification of Staffing which covers all spending across 45+
different companies. This includes Oxford Health, Oxford University, and
Royal Berkshire NHS Trust, plus various agencies so it is very difficult
to extract precise data.
1b. Please provide a breakdown of your answer to question 1a, splitting
the spend by job title/specialism. As above.
2. Has the Trust used agencies to recruit permanent non-medical
non-clinical staff? No time period has been provided – it is not possible
to extract data/interrogate records for an indefinite period. For A&C
positions we don’t use agencies to recruit permanent NMNC staff. Trust
policy is all substantive recruitment is provided through the Trust’s
internal recruitment function; any exception to this would require senior
approval.
2a. If so please confirm the total agency spend on non-medical non
clinical permanent staff? N/A
2b. Please provide a breakdown of your answer to question 2a, splitting
the spend by job title/specialism N/A As Above
3. The contact name of the person responsible for dealing with non-medical
non clinical permanent recruitment? – Talent and Recruitment Manager. The
name of this person has been withheld under Section 40(2)
4. The contact name of the person responsible for dealing with non-medical
non clinical temporary recruitment? –Temporary Staffing Manager. The name
of this person has been withheld under Section 40(2)
