Dear Test Valley Borough Council,
I am writing to request the following information under the Freedom of Information Act.
Q1. Of the households living with children in temporary accommodation at the end of December 2021 (the last quarterly data publicly available), how many were placed in accommodation outside of your local authority area?
Q2. Of the households living with children in temporary accommodation in each of the following financial years, how many were placed in accommodation outside of your local authority area?
a. 2017/2018
b. 2018/2019
c. 2019/2020
d. 2020/2021
e. 2021/2022
Q3. For the households with children who left a placement in B&B/ hotel accommodation during each of the following financial years, what was the average time spent in B&B/hotel accommodation?
a. 2017/2018

Dear Ms Wardle,
Thank you for your request for information dated 8^th July 2022 and
received on 11^th July 2022. This request is being handled under the
Freedom of Information Act 2000.
From our preliminary assessment, we estimate that compliance with your
request would exceed the appropriate costs limit under Section 12 of the
Freedom of Information Act 2000. This is currently £450.00.
The Council holds information relating to this matter but in order to
provide the information you have requested, I am advised 3,730 files would
need to be accessed to locate, retrieve and extract the information. The
estimated time this would take per file is 10 minutes which amounts to 622
hours which at the allowable rate of £25 exceeds the appropriate costs
limit.
Rather than refusing your request at this stage, I would like to explore
with you how the Council may best assist you to request relevant
information which we hold. It may be that you can narrow the scope of your
request. If you need assistance with this please do not hesitate to
contact me as above.
