Temporary 30 mph speed limit on A40

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Transport for London should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Transport for London,
Why is there still a temporary 30mph in operation East and West bound on the A40 for approximately 6 months from Target roundabout to Greenford Flyover?
Its says somthing about repairs but I have never seen any machinery or workmen and I drive this route 3 times a week in both directions.
This causes congestion and delays and causes good motorists to question the speed limit.
Has TFL just forgotten the signs are still there?

Yours faithfully,

Russell Evans

Dear Mr Evans

Our Ref:          FOI-0180-1819

Thank you for your request received on 20 April 2018 asking for
information about the temporary speed restriction on the A40.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of
the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. I
can confirm we do hold the information you require.

The speed restriction has been put into place 24 hours a day 7 days a week
on the A40 between Target and Greenford for the safety of road users. A
recent inspection has highlighted issues with the condition of the barrier
and as such we have put a speed restriction in place to mitigate the risk
in the event of a vehicular incident at the location until such time as
the barrier can be replaced. I can confirm that we have not forgotten
about the signs.

If this is not the information you are looking for please feel free to
contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to
appeal.

Yours sincerely

Gemma Jacob
