Television Licence requirement for employment

The request was successful.

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

1) Is having a Television Licence a requirement for employment anywhere at the BBC? Please list the departments where a valid Licence is required at your home address to gain employment.

2) In particular, does one need to have a Television Licence to gain employment within the Television Licensing enforcement division, currently outsourced to Capita? I ask with particular interest when it comes to becoming an Enforcement Officer.

3) Is there any kind of employee or contractor discount for a Television Licence for those employed by the BBC or their contractors?

Yours faithfully,

Mr Scott

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of British Broadcasting Corporation's handling of my FOI request 'Television Licence requirement for employment'.

I must disagree that this request is regarded as "creating new information". A simple look at any interviewer's guidance and specimen employment contract should be able to answer this Yes/No issue. If there is guidance such as the interviewer asking "Do you have a television licence at home?" or an employment contract having a clause saying "You must live in a property with a television licence" or similar then the answer is Yes. If these clauses and guidance questions do not have this information, the answer is No.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/t...

Yours faithfully,

Mr Scott
