Telephone scams

The request was refused by City of London Police.

Dear City of London Police,

RE : "ACTION FRAUD - the national fraud and internet crime reporting
point is part of the City of London police service."

Under the Freedom of Information Act, please provide the following
result-based statistics regarding its success or otherwise in
combating distance fraud.

For the whole of 2014 and the first six months of 2015 please
disclose

1. How many reports were made to Action Fraud of fraud, theft or
attempted fraud or theft involving an unsolicited telephone
approach to the victim or intended victim?

2. How many of those reports resulted in a criminal investigation
being opened by any police force?

3. How many of those investigations resulted in a suspected
offender being identified by the investigating police force or
constabulary?

4. How many of the suspected offenders were prosecuted?

5. How many of those prosecuted were convicted?
