Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Tees Valley Combined Authority should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Tees Valley Combined Authority,

Now that Teesside International Airport Limited is a a “publicly-owned company” under section 3(1)(b) of the FOI Act, kindly provide:

1) the total value of the “bail out” money paid in 2020 and 2021 by the Combined Authority;

2) the briefing papers provided to Ben Houchen in respect of the bail out money (for both 2020 and 2021);

3) each subsidy given to airlines during 2020 and 2021 (specifying which businesses benefited, the value of the financial incentive offered and, where relevant, the route they provide at the airport);

4) the total amount of public funding spent on making improvements to the airport in 2018,2019,2020 and 2021;

5) the total amount of public funding spent on improving commercial infrastructure within the airport in 2018,2019,2020 and 2021.

6) a schedule of the cheapest and most expensive landing fees at the airport in 2018,2019,2020 and 2021.

Our response:

Information on TVCA’s further investment in the Airport was set out in the
report to the TVCA Cabinet paper ‘Q4 Budget Report and Medium Term
Financial Plan’ presented at the Cabinet meeting on 2 July 2021. This
report can be found on the TVCA website.

 

You asked:

2) the briefing papers provided to Ben Houchen in respect of the bail out
money (for both 2020 and 2021);

 

Our response:

Information about the rationale for further investment in the Airport was
set out in the appendix to the Cabinet paper Teesside International
Airport Business Plan Update presented at the meeting on 24^th September
2021. This report can be found on the TVCA website.

 

You asked:

We do not hold this information.
