Pamela Knott, Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership

Dear [Name removed] [Name removed]

Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (“The Act”)

We refer to your request dated 21/02/2019, for the following information
TEC Services.

We confirm that the Council holds the following information, which we
believe satisfies your request, and which is included below:

1. Total number of Memrabel devices provided to service users.

There are currently 4 Memrabel devices in use by service users.

2. Total number of Pivotell devices provided to service users.

There are currently 19 Pivotell devices in use by service users.

3. Assessment used to assess for technology enabled care devices.

Assessment for technology enabled care is undertaken as part of a range of
health and social care assessments by a range of staff (e.g. care manager,
occupational therapist etc) – to determine whether technology aids
provided by the Council such as community alarm or telecare would meet
some of the assessed needs of a client. Clients may also self-refer to the
Council for community alarm and numerous items of telecare equipment.
Referrals from health or social care staff, or a self-referral from a
client, are sent to the Aberdeenshire Lifeline service who manage the
community alarm and telecare service provided by Aberdeenshire Council.
Where required, Aberdeenshire Lifeline will provide guidance and advice to
staff and/or clients on the solutions available from Aberdeenshire
Lifeline that meet the assessed need.

4. List of technology enabled care solutions currently funded by the
council.

The following is a list of technology enabled care solutions
currently funded by the council: just checking, bed sensor, carbon
monoxide detector, chair sensor, community alarm, door sensor, enuresis
sensor, environmental control sensor, epilepsy sensor, extreme temp
sensor, fall detector, flashing beacon (linked to smoke detector), flood
detector, heat detector, key safe, medication reminder, medication
dispenser, memo minder (with voice message), memrabel, motion detector,
personal tracking system, property exit sensor, pendant (linked to CAS)
smoke detector, universal sensor, vibrating pillow alert, window sensor,
x10 lamp module.

5. Average wait for assessment for technology enabled care solutions.

An assessment for technology enabled care is frequently undertaken as part
of other health and social care assessments by a range of health and
social care staff, rather than a stand-alone activity. Referrals and
self-referrals for community alarm and telecare received by Aberdeenshire
Lifeline typically will be processed (with check of eligibility and
appropriateness of requested equipment) within 2 working days.

6. Average wait for social care assessment.

This information is not held.  Wait times will depend on risk and the
individuals’ needs.

Please contact me as the officer responsible for responding to your
request if you have any further queries.

If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with this response, please refer
to the further information attached.

Yours faithfully
