GENERAL BOARD OF THE FACULTIES
A meeting of the Board was held at 2.15 p.m. on Wednesday 2 June 2010 in
the Syndicate Room, The Old Schools, Trinity Lane.
Present: the Vice-Chancellor (in the Chair), Dr Bampos, Professor Brown,
Professor Chase, Professor Ford, Professor Franklin, Professor Gamble,
Professor Gilligan, Dr Good, Dr
Padman, Professor Rallison, Professor
Sanders, Mr Wakeford and Mr Xia, with the Academic Secretary as Secretary,
the Deputy Academic Secretary and Mr Thompson. Dr Barnes, Professor
Gladden, Professor White, Professor Young, the Registrary and the University
Draftsman were also present.
An apology for absence was received from Professor Sissons.
A5. Report of the General Board on the University Library and the
Centre for Applied Research in Educational Technologies (CARET)

A Report on the incorporation of the Centre for Applied Research in
Education Technologies (CARET) into the University Library was
received (Paper No. 10.A.14). The Board were reminded that at their
meeting on 28 April 2010 they had approved a recommendation that the
incorporation of CARET into the University Library should proceed.
After Professor Rallison had commented and Professor Ford had
indicated that the proposal had the support of the Library Syndicate, the
University Librarian and the Director of CARET, the Board agreed to
approve the Report, and, after one textual amendment, they signed it.
