Teachers suspension stats
. I would like to know how many teachers have been suspended from schools for improper relationships with pupils (and vice versa) in the last three years. I would like to know at what school this occurred, if there were any other sanctions imposed and whether the police were involved.

No police involvement, no further sanctions.
‘We are not going to release the name(s) of the school(s) involved. This is because we consider that, if we do provide this information, there is a strong possibly that individuals involved could be identified. The Information Commissioner is clear on the obligations on public authorities when safeguarding personal information. When faced with releasing this type of information we need to weigh up the possibility of whether individuals can be identified from the data, or from the data and other information that is likely to come into the possession of the third party, against the presumption to release of the information under the Freedom of Information Act. Therefore we feel it is appropriate on this occasion to apply the exemption found in Section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, which may be applied if we consider that to release the information could result in the disclosure of personal data as defined by the Data Protection Act 1998.’
