Dear Mr Little

Thank you for your email received by Transport for London (TfL) on 29
December 2010. You asked for information in connection with the Mayor's
Air Quality Strategy and the requirement that all new taxis meet the Euro
5 standard.

Your request has been considered under the Environmental Information
Regulations 2004 and I can confirm that TfL does hold information in
connection with taxis and the Mayor's Air Quality Strategy.

Attached are minutes from meetings with taxi representatives when the
proposals in the draft strategy, including the proposal that new taxis
entering the fleet should meet a certain Euro standard, were discussed.
These have also been provided to you in response to your separate request
of 29 December (reference FOI-0201-1011). Also attached is a copy of the
London Taxi and Private Hire Notice (13/10) issued and posted on the
[1]TfL website plus a copy of a presentation from the workshop held with
taxi representatives in November 2009.

Further information about air quality in London can be found in the 2008
London Atmospheric Emissions Inventory which is available on the Greater
London Authority website via the following linkt:

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable
to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached
