Dear Greenwich Borough Council,

Could you please tell me:

a) How much the council is expecting to spend on the Falmouth Greenwich Tall Ships Regatta, due for September 2014.

b) How much it expects to raise in sponsorship.

c) How much it expects to raise in other income.

Could you also please send any document or statement which outlines the economic benefits to the wider community. If there is a business plan for the event, please send that.

Dear Mr Chamberlain,

Thanks for your FOI RFI/0654.

The Council has set aside £175,000 of funding for the event.

The Council expects the bulk of these costs to be offset by sponsorship,
merchandising, concessions and other sources. The council does not hold
information on how much income will be raised by the event at this stage.

Please find attached the public report which was produced when the council
signed the agreement with Sail Training International in respect of the
2014 Tall Ships Regatta.

If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your
request and wish to make a complaint or request a review of our decision,
you should write to the Chief Executive, Royal Borough of Greenwich, Town
Hall, Wellington Street, Woolwich SE18 6PW.

If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint, you may apply
directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision. Generally, the
ICO cannot make a decision unless you have exhausted the complaints
procedure provided by the Council. The Information Commissioner can be
contacted at: The Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water
Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.

Yours sincerely
