Take up of flu vaccination by Trust staff
Dear Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust,
I would like figures for the number of staff offered the flu vaccination on a year by year basis and the number of staff taking up that offer going back as long as records are kept.
I would like to know the cost per vaccination.
I would also like to know the year the 'incentive' of an extra days annual leave for staff taking up the offer of the flu vaccination was introduced.
I would like figures for the total cost to the Trust for the extra days annual leave granted to those who took up the offer of the flu vaccination on a yearly basis since the 'incentive' was introduced.
Yours faithfully,
Daniel Asquith

Frankly I don't believe the response to the final part of my request relating to cost of the extra days annual leave given to all Trust staff who take up the flu vaccine. Of course they know. They wouldn't have offered it if they hadn't worked out the costings and written it into the proposal.
Further investigation is warranted on this matter.
More questions will be asked.....
Dear Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust's handling of my FOI request 'Take up of flu vaccination by Trust staff'.
The Trust must know how much one days annual leave given to staff who take up the flu vaccine costs. The offer would not have been proposed if the (potential) cost had not been worked out beforehand. If the cost has not been worked out it should be a simple matter of conducting an audit and applying some fairly basic maths to the information in the audit to work out the cost to the Trust.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/t...
Yours faithfully,
Daniel Asquith

Absolutely shocked that any company would bribe their staff to have a medical procedure, with associated risks, by offering extra annual leave days. I wonder, in addition to the cost of providing this extra annual leave, how many days were lost due to sickness following the flu vaccination.
