Thank you for emailing the British Museum.

We value your comments and feedback, and aim to respond within 10
working days. However, please note that if your enquiry is particularly
complicated or requires substantial investigation, it may take longer to
provide you with a full response. In the meantime, you may find it
useful to [1]check the Museum’s website for more information. For
Membership related enquiries, please contact the Membership team by

Please note the following:

Luggage policy (large luggage, suitcases and cabin baggage)
Wheeled cases and large items of luggage are not allowed on British
Museum premises for safety and security reasons. Storage for luggage is
available at major rail stations, including Euston, King’s Cross and
Charing Cross. Maximum bag size allowed inside the building is 40cm x
40cm x 50cm. Maximum bag weight allowed inside the building is 8kg
(except fold-up pushchairs). Bag searches are in operation at both
entrances to the Museum so please allow additional time for this. After
passing through the Museum’s front gate on Great Russell Street, ticket
holders and Members will be able to join the fast track lane through
these security checks.

Booking tickets for special exhibitions
Due to the popularity of our special exhibitions and the limited
availability of tickets, you are strongly recommended to book your
tickets online in advance to avoid disappointment.

To book tickets for [2]Rodin and the art of ancient Greece (26 April –
29 July 2018) please follow this [3]link.

Object valuation, identification and acquisition
The Museum does not provide valuations and does not generally acquire
objects from private individuals. For more information, see the Museum’s
[4]Acquisition Policy

If you are seeking advice on valuations or on selling an object, you
should consult a local specialist dealer or auction house – we will not
respond to these types of queries.

Applications for jobs, internships and work experience
The Museum does not accept speculative applications for jobs and
internships – we are unable to respond to these types of communication.
If you are interested in applying for a position at the British Museum,
please check job listings [5]here and submit your application via the
online recruitment system. If you are interested in volunteering, you
can find current opportunities [6]here. There is no formal scheme for
work experience at the Museum, but you can [7]contact individual
departments directly to ask about work experience possibilities
